When you get a kit that requires assembly, it can be daunting. I often start out overwhelmed at all the pieces and parts and instructions. I remember to breathe. I remind myself that it doesn’t have to all be done at once. Then, I read the instructions. I take it one. step. at. a. time. I might do a little, then wander off and take a break. Once I am ready, I go back and get to the next step. Bit by bit, it comes together. It is assembled. There – standing just like it should, a completed project. It feels good to have completed it.
We all get overwhelmed sometimes. It’s very human.
But when we chunk the task into smaller bits, it’s more manageable, less daunting. So when life is threatening to take over your mind, remember to chunk it.
