Coping with Overwhelming Emotions as a Mom

Being a mom is an incredibly rewarding experience, but it can also be incredibly overwhelming. Between the constant demands of caring for children, managing a household, and juggling work and other responsibilities, it can be easy to feel like we're stretched too thin.

One of the most important things to remember when feeling overwhelmed as a mom is that it's okay to ask for help. Whether it's enlisting the support of a partner, family members, or friends, or hiring a babysitter or cleaner, there's no shame in getting the help you need to manage the demands of motherhood.

Another key aspect of coping with overwhelming emotions as a mom is to MAKE time for self-care. This requires intention. It's possible you will have to defer yourself for a time, however, continual deferment leads to utter depletion. We have experienced it, and we don't recommend it!

Renewal and replenishment can include things like exercise, meditation, or simply taking a few minutes to read or watch a favorite TV show. It's important to find activities that you enjoy and make time for them, no matter how busy you are.

It's also important to communicate your feelings to your loved ones, this can help them understand and support you better. Being a mom can be an emotional rollercoaster, and it's important to have a support system that understands and accepts that.

It's also helpful to find a community of other moms, whether it's in a local group, online forum or social media. Talking to other moms who are going through similar experiences can be incredibly comforting and can help you to feel less alone.

Feeling overwhelmed as a mom is normal, but it's important to take steps to manage these emotions and take care of yourself. With the right approach and support, you can find ways to cope and enjoy the journey of motherhood.
