Listen to Yourself



We all have occasional (and sometimes frequent) drama and turmoil in our lives. Even the mundane daily activities can wear on us.


Just as it is important to listen to others attentively, we need to listen to ourselves. Touch base with the thoughts and feelings that may be churning within, just beneath the surface. We get so accustomed to it, after all – it becomes background noise. We don’t notice it. But background noise is still noise, and interferes with our ability to hear other sounds, sounds we want or need to hear.


So remember to take time to listen to you. You can touch base with your feelings and thoughts periodically throughout the day, or journal, or start with the low-hanging fruit, of what is clearly a problem, while gradually easing yourself to other root concerns. Be kind to yourself, and give yourself a listen!
