Finally, the last in our series of things to avoid doing, we have a listener who flips the conversation toward them or one ups, and doesn’t stay tuned in. I bet you’ve heard something like this before: “Oh, yeah – that reminds me of the time I did that, only better/worse…” While there may be appropriate times for sharing your story, when actively Listening to someone generally isn’t the time.
